Independence Day in INDIA, celebrated annually on 15th August. Independence Day marks the top of British rule out 1947 and therefore the establishment of a free and independent Indian nation. It also marks the anniversary of the partition of the subcontinent into two countries, India and Pakistan, which occurred in the dark on August 14–15, 1947.
